AAQ-2

The Acceptance and Action Questionnaire-II (AAQ-2) is a short, validated measure of psychological flexibility. You can freely download it and find scoring instructions here.

Please note: The measure is open-source and freely available for educational and research purposes—no special permission is required to use it in your work. Please just be sure to include the proper citation.

The measure is getting a bit dated however and it does not measure all aspects of the classic psychological flexibility model (attentional processes for example), never mind the issues that arise from extending the model socially or bodily, or from distinguishing flexibility from inflexibility. There are classical psychometric reasons to move to more modern measures so do your homework (we have discussed the pros and cons of the AAQ-II here).

I am often asked to recommend other measures. I generally favor moving to ecological momentary assessment measures such as Gloster's "Psy-Flex", or to specific process measures such as  the Brief Experiential Avoidance Questionnaire (BEAQ), or the Multidimensional Experiential Avoidance Questionnaire (MEAQ) or to comprehensive multi-dimensional measures such as the Multidimensional Psychological Flexibility Inventory (MPFI). I do not control these measures however so please reach out to their developers.
